Ameer Ahmed, M.D. Board Certified was born in NYC and graduated from NYU. He specializes in Sports Medicine and General Orthopedic Care. Dr. Ahmed completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship with Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and University Orthopedics Center in central Pennsylvania. In addition to his specialty training in musculoskeletal medicine he completed a residency program specializing in Internal Medicine at Medstar Health in Baltimore, Maryland.
As a sports medicine physician specialist, he provides comprehensive prevention and care for active patients of all ages, including athletes at the high school, college, and professional levels. Through volunteer sports medicine coverage during residency and professional experience both during fellowship and at urgent care facilities, he has gained and applies practical sports medicine knowledge in the hospital and clinic settings, as well as onsite at games, sporting events, and other mass participation events like the New York City marathon. Dr. Ahmed provides prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries as well as concussions, cuts, fainting episodes, and dehydration.
With a deep appreciation for sports and his lifelong passion for medicine, he takes pride in providing quality patient care with accurate diagnosis and customized treatment options delivered in state of the art facilities. Having the experience of treating children, teenagers and adult patients in a variety of community settings ranging from urban New York City to rural central Pennsylvania, athletic training rooms to outpatient offices, he has developed a versatile approach to providing the best care for all patients.
Dr. Ahmed lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughter and enjoys sports, comic books, and traveling.
